Rioja’s Second Oldest Winery
Marqués de Arviza is a historic and traditional family winery in La Rioja, Spain, notable for being one of the region’s oldest, with facilities dating back to 1874 built over remarkable 16th and 17th-century underground cellars, or calados. Following meticulous restoration, the winery combines this rich legacy with a modern philosophy, focusing on high-quality, terroir-driven wines, primarily from their 45 hectares of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha, often using concrete vats for fermentation to maintain freshness. The winery’s dedication to reflecting the unique personality of their land and its history is evident in their range of red wines, which are aged in the historic underground passages before release.
